Ayurveda helped me to look into MY KITCHEN CABINET to IGNITE the HEALER in ME.
Spices make our food delicious. They are just not flavor enhancers. Infact, they are OUR kitchen pharmacy!
Let's dive into the topic!
Spice of the Day: Coriander

All parts of coriander is edible and it is easy to grow in your home!
The fresh leaves and dried seeds are used in daily cooking.
Benefits:
•Controls blood pressure
•Reduces skin inflammation
•Helps maintain beautiful skin
•Better digestion
•Cure for cold and cough
•Prevents menstrual irregularities
Start using fresh coriander leaves in your daily cooking, it is aromatic and promotes good health!
How to grow coriander in your home:

take a handful of coriander seeds (you might have to buy seeds from a nursery or outdoor supply store as grocery store seeds do not always grow to produce many leaves)
break the seeds with your fingers (the seeds should split in half, but not completely crush)
fill a pot that has holes for drainage with potting soil, or find a space in the ground
sprinkle the split coriander seeds inside the pot approximately 2-3 inches apart
cover the seeds with a 1/2 inch layer of soil and press gently to firm the soil
water close to the soil, enough to keep the soil moist, and make sure the soil is well-drained (throughout the growing season)
in 1 to 3 weeks germination begins
Fertilize lightly if necessary
harvest leaves and outer stems periodically after 3 months of growth, and don't uproot the plant (it will continue to grow)
stop harvesting leaves when flowers come (the leaves lose their taste)
Harvest and store seeds once the plant dries
During snowless winters, early spring, and fall, grow the coriander outdoors in the sunniest part of your garden. In summer, grow the coriander in a shaded spot that does not receive harsh afternoon sunlight. During snowy winters or very hot summers, grow coriander indoors.
Try organic or homemade pesticide options if you encounter any pests.
Try growing and share pictures of the aromatic coriander herb.
