Ayurveda helped me to look into MY KITCHEN CABINET to IGNITE the HEALER in ME.
Spices make our food delicious. They are just not flavor enhancers. Infact, they are OUR kitchen pharmacy!
Let's dive into the topic!
Spice of the Day: Cardamom

Cardamom is fragrant and slightly sweet flavor.
•Benefits:
•Helps in reducing bloating and intestinal gas.
•Lowers blood pressure
Cardamom tea:
1 cardamom pod
1 tsp tea leaves ( I use Lipton )
1/2 inch Ginger ( grate after peeling the skin )
1/2 tsp honey or jaggery (optional)
1/2 cup of water
3/4 cup milk
Boil water with cardamom pod, tea leaves and grated ginger for 2 to 3 minutes based on your preference (strong or mild). Add milk and allow it to boil. Remove from stove and add honey or jaggery after it comes to warm temperature.
Enjoy your cardamom tea!
Caution:
If you are pregnant or breast feeding, avoid cardamom
If you have a tendency for gallstones, do not consume cardamom.
