Spices make our food delicious. They are just not flavor enhancers. Infact, they are OUR kitchen pharmacy!

Spice of the Day: Black Pepper




Black pepper is generally used for seasoning and traditional medicinal purposes. It is cleansing and has antioxidant properties.



Benefits:


•Enhances digestion

•Stimulates the appetite

•Helps maintain respiratory system health

•Maintains health of the joints


If you have cold, cough or sore throat, try this recipe for a couple of days to get relief:


  1. 1.5 cup of milk( I always use organic)

  2. 1/2 tsp turmeric

  3. 1/4 grounded black pepper


Boil the milk by adding the above ingredients and drink once it is warm at bedtime.
