Spices make our food delicious. They are just not flavor enhancers. In fact, they are OUR kitchen pharmacy!

Spice of the Day: Ginger


Ginger is a warming spice and has pungent taste. It is used in day to day cooking.


Benefits:


•Digestion

•Enhancing appetite

•Pacifying stomach disorders

•Maintaining good joints

•Having a healthy respiratory system

•Recovering from cough and cold



Recipe - Relief from allergy (seasonal)


Ingredients:


  • 1/4 inch ginger, peeled and cut into small pieces/grated

  • 1.5 cup of water


Method:


Boil the ingredients and allow the water to reduce to 1 cup. Switch off the stove and filter using a strainer. Allow it to come to warm temperature and enjoy the ginger tea.


Drink the ginger tea first thing in the morning to get relief from seasonal allergies. It also gives relief from inflammation in the body.
